West Coast has transitioned from a private career school into a Health and Wellness Training Center. We saw the need to offer several different training sessions in a unique setting that enables the client to choose topics that fit their own unique needs in less time. Facility: The Health and Wellness Training center is located in beautiful Molalla Oregon. It is conveniently located in a Professional Medical building. There are many restaurants and stores nearby. Clients will be provided with state of the art equipment and updated materials. Clients will also enjoy a Modern Peaceful environment, with one on one guidance.

With over 30 years of experience in various settings of the health care field and as an entrepreneur, Debbie
considers herself to be a positive person who adapts well to any situation. Being detail
oriented and able to multi task strengthens her skills. She enjoys being in a
constant state of learning which has enabled her to enhance the quality of the training
environment.
As a business owner for many years she knows the value of excellent
customer service. Her roots are here in the Pacific Northwest, having been born and raised
in the Portland area. She has a strong dedication and respect for health care in any form and always raising the bar in whatever you choose to do.

Health, Character and Technical Standards

West Coast must ensure that clients are not placed in jeopardy by other clients during learning
experiences. Therefore, clients in the phlebotomy session must demonstrate
sufficient emotional stability to withstand the stresses, uncertainties, and changing circumstances that
characterize patient/ client care responsibilities. Furthermore, the client is expected to have the
emotional stability to exercise sound judgment, accept direction and guidance from a supervisor or
center member and establish rapport and maintain sensitive interpersonal relationships with
employees, clients and their families.

West Coast believes client safety is of utmost importance. Therefore, if the
Center officials believe
that actions demonstrated by a client at the center jeopardizes either the clients own
safety or another clients safety, that client will be dismissed from the center.

Standards have been established to provide guidance to clients as to skills and abilities required to
function successfully in the center.

Clients must:
1. Demonstrate reading, writing, and listening comprehension competencies in the English language as
well as the ability to speak English clearly and correctly.
2. Have sufficient hearing to understand instructions and identify
emergency signals.
3. Have sufficient visual acuity to observe, and interpret data visual acuity sufficient to ensure
a safe environment.
4. Have sufficient speech and language ability to express, comprehend, and exchange information and
ideas in English verbally, non-verbally, and in writing, and to interact clearly and logically.

5. Ability to respond appropriately in emergencies or unexpected
situations .

6. Sufficient emotional intelligence to exhibit empathy and compassion, to maintain productive
relationships at the center and a variety of settings, and to integrate direction, instruction, and
constructive critiquing into behavior.

Grievance Policy: Clients aggrieved by the actions of the center should attempt to resolve
these issues with the appropriate center officials. West Coast Phlebotomy Health and Wellness Training Center does not discriminate against

Professionalism is more than just being polite and having a good attitude. It is knowing how to communicate effectively and close the gap to the generational divide.
Weather we are working for or working with other people we must know that differences arise from a variety of things such as but not limited to culture,generation,beliefs and the most forgotten is life's experiences. Kenesics and proxemics are also important to understand and practice.
we must learn to not only understand diversity but to also appreciate the differences that make our lives so unique and our experiences so valuable. everyone has something to bring to the table and we can learn from every one who comes into our lives. infection control/blood borne pathogens

Clients will receive a certificate for this.

germs germs and more germs. ugh! how do we protect our selves while taking care of others.

learn about all of the pathogens that are a threat to us and non pathogens that are just a nuance. as health care professionals, your purpose is to help the patient heal and return to their daily activities.

The importance of the proper use and disposal of ppe's and the many different ways that infections and virus's spread. Blood Borne Pathogens are a risk for anyone and there are effective ways of avoiding them all together.( client will receive a certificate of bbp)

Dirty jobs host mike rowe visits us during this session by video to show us the eye opening diversity of germs that live on us. seriously entertaining.

law/ethics//hipaa/hiv/aids

Included in Phlebotomy Training. Clients will receive a certificate for this.

The most important session in learning how to avoid Phlebotomy related law suits. How not to be a liability to your facility or patient. HIPAA laws are one of the most litigated issues in healthcare. you want to be that person that everyone asks for and feels safe with.

the privacy of patients especially when it comes to HIV/AIDS is a must to avoid adding to the stigma that surrounds the virus.

education and understanding must replace ignorance and hysteria if we are to overcome the stigma that still surrounds the virus that has been around for over 40 years but is still plaguing those who's lives are affected by it. (client will receive a certificate of completion)

phlebotomy/lab

15 hours $1450

This session includes all books, handouts and lab supplies and one on one training in phlebotomy/lab procedures.

Consistency and being trainable along with leaving your junk in the trunk and knowing the importance of what you are doing will keep you motivated to learn this skill the correct way and not be a liability to your facility or patient. This is a career where rewards are measured by the lives that you touch. (clients will receive a certificate of completion.)
